Typing test with exam-grade results
Most typing websites only show a single WPM figure. Government exams are stricter: they compare your answer with the passage word by word, separate full mistakes from half mistakes and calculate error percentage. This typing test does the same, so the number you see here is the number that matters in your exam.
- Any duration: 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes.
- English and Hindi: type Hindi with your own keyboard or the built-in Inscript and Remington Gail layouts.
- Seven interfaces: TCS iON (SSC, RRB), JKSSB TypingMaster style, CPCT, Court, MS Word, State board and TypingPrep practice.
- Practice modes: blind typing, backspace-disabled mode, numbers & symbols drill, common-word drill and your own paragraphs.
- Progress tracking: every result is saved in My Results with charts.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good typing speed?
For most Indian government clerical jobs you need 30–35 wpm in English and 25–30 wpm in Hindi. Above 40 wpm with 97% accuracy is a comfortable, exam-ready speed. Professional typists reach 60–80 wpm.
How is WPM calculated on this typing test?
Gross WPM = (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Net WPM subtracts your mistakes per minute (full mistake = 1, half mistake = ½). The result screen shows every step of the calculation.
Can I practise my own paragraph?
Yes. Add any paragraph in My Paragraphs and select it in the Passage list. Paragraphs are saved in your browser only.
Can I try the real exam interfaces here?
Yes – open “Exam interface” on the start screen and choose TCS iON (SSC/RRB), JKSSB TypingMaster style, CPCT, Court, MS Word or State board layouts.
